A series of knife attacks in Canada. Many were killed

– The number of injured may be higher because some of the victims may have reached hospitals themselves – Rhonda Blackmore of the RCMP said at a press conference.

There were at least 13 knife attacks in the James Smith Cree Nation and in Weldon, Saskatchewan, in central Saskatchewan. Canadian police have identified two suspects – Damien Sanderson and Miles Sanderson. The men are left at large to travel in a black Nissan Rogue.

At the press conference, the police did not reveal the motive of the attackers. It only suggests that at least some victims appeared by chance.

Addressed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “The attacks in Saskatchewan are horrific and heartbreaking. My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones and those injured. We are monitoring the situation and asking everyone to follow the directions of local authorities,” the government leader wrote on social media.

The services initially issued a warning against the attackers to the people of Saskatchewan, and later expanded it to the neighboring provinces of Alberta and Manitoba.

The alert recommends staying at home, not approaching suspicious people, not picking up hitchhikers, and not specifying where police patrols have been spotted.

Public broadcaster CBC reported that three ambulance helicopters flew to the scene of an attack and took three people to hospitals.

Police in Regini, Saskatchewan’s provincial capital, said in a press release Sunday that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are supporting the investigation and have beefed up security across the city “including for the ongoing American football game at Mosaic Stadium.” Local police say the suspects were spotted in Regina around noon local time.
