In the wake of last week’s mayhem that virtually turned the 2022 college football season on its head, the top 25 front-runners in Week Three may be more cautious on Saturday. With two games between ranked opponents on the schedule and a number of non-conference top-tier games to be played, plenty could still be shed before league play begins in earnest through the end of September.
The highlight of Saturday is the Night Cup as No. 13 visits Miami with No. 24 at Texas A&M with the Aggies from one of those aforementioned turbulent losses to Appalachian State. The Hurricanes are looking to bend under head coach of the year Mario Cristobal, while Aegis coach Jimbo Fischer seeks to keep his bench from getting too hot. Speaking of Cristobal, his former team featured in the other 25 showdown as Oregon’s No. 25 was BYU’s No. 12 host. The Cougars are feeling themselves after a big home win over Baylor, while the Ducks are still aiming to come back from a tough show against Georgia in week one.
Also on the list are No. 6 Oklahoma welcoming rival Nebraska after the Cornhuskers fired head coach Scott Frost, newly minted Georgia No. 1 on a visit to SEC competitor East in South Carolina and Auburn where he welcomes a tough non-conference test from No. 22 Penn State in Pennsylvania. . Featured game on CBS. In other words, there will be no shortage of storylines to chew on before the Sabbath is over.

No. 6 Oklahoma in Nebraska

A worse team than Nebraska played a better team in Oklahoma by seven points last season. With the game based in Lincoln, Nebraska, don’t expect things to get out of hand. No. 1 Georgia in South Carolina

Gamecocks struggles to protect quarterback Spencer Rattler and hasn’t shown many quick attacks in two games. Georgia’s defense appears to have fallen hard at all after taking five players into the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and the Bulldogs may be able to stop South Carolina from hitting double digits. While coach Kirby Smart is unlikely to score on a respected former assistant, Georgia should cover up even if her own infractions keep things as they are. Prediction: Georgia (-24.5) – David Cope

No. 22 Pennsylvania in Auburn

The best units on the field in this match will be the defences, so it’s hard to imagine any team managing to get so far apart from the other. This makes auburn and points an attractive option. No. 12 BYU in No. 25 Oregon

Quarterback Yaren Hall flashed his arm in the NFL in annoyance at Baylor last weekend despite missing out on his two best conceding goals. Distinguished offensive and defensive lines in most of the past three seasons. High school played at a high level, while Christopher Brooks backed off well. Conversely, Oregon has gone 1-4 in its last five matches with FBS and outperformed it 201-90. With victories over Baylor, USC, Utah and four other Power Five foes in the past year, don’t expect the Cougars to intimidate Oregon’s recruiting stars. Prediction: BYU (+3.5) – Jiargah
UTSA at No. 21 Texas

8 pm | network of long centuries – This is a potential trap game for the Longhorns, but I think they took the win. However, the prestige of the Hudson Card makes me hesitant to consider Texas the favorite with 12.5 points. Card is at his best when playing with his legs, and an injury to his ankle could limit this part of his game. On top of that, Jeff Traylor’s team has a lot of motivation against one of the 12 major establishments. Texas gets the victory, but the Roadrunners cover. Prediction: UTSA (+12.5) – Austin Nevison
No. 13 Miami at No. 24 Texas A&M

9 pm | ESPN, fuboTV (try for free)– This will come down to a quarterback fight, and the winner of that fight is clear. Tyler Van Dyke is more talented, has better protection and more weapons outside than Haynes King. Van Dyke’s attack and hurricanes will set the rhythm, which will lead to playing this game in the 1930s. Texas A&M will not be able to comment. Multiple mistakes by Texas A&M in the second half will not only give Miami the cover but will give an outright victory. Prediction: Miami (+5.5) – Barrett Sally
