The Princess of Wales shared a heartwarming moment with a resident of Oxford House Nursing Home.
Kate Middleton, 41, met Nora, 109, who was joined by her grandchildren Lyn and John, during her visit on Tuesday morning to the family-run business in Slough.
Kate was caught chatting with Nora, who celebrated her 109th birthday on January 7, two days before Kate’s birthday, as the king exclaimed: “mate Capricorn.”
She also received a card from her father-in-law, King Charles and the Queen, sent to Nora on her 109th birthday.
Then Princess Nora asked what her favorite food was, and she answered by way of kidneys and Brussels sprouts.
While kidneys may not be a common staple in many people’s diets, Kate surprisingly admitted: “I love kidneys, too.”
The royal family, who wore a pink face mask inside the care home, met with staff and residents and heard that delivering high-quality, patient-centered care is at the heart of the home’s business.
The mother-of-three looked dapper in the look, opting for a chic navy blue polo neck with matching trousers and recycled a trendy £470 camel coat from Max & Co.
The nursing home is based in Slough, caring for up to 34 residents, and also runs a home care organisation, Oxford House Community Care, which provides support to enable local people to live independently in their own homes.
During her visit, Kate heard about Oxford House’s use of technology to stimulate and enrich the daily lives of residents.
These include an interactive sensory table, purchased in 2020 in response to pandemic restrictions, and a new interactive wall that will be used to support residents with dementia.
Princess during her visit was captured playing interactive soccer with resident Jean.
Also, while visiting Oxford House Nursing Home, the mother-of-three was seen making pancakes for Tuesday, being left in fits of laughter as she tried to use a hot plate in the care home to cook pancakes – with little success.
She could be heard asking the chef for tips before trying to flip the pie, saying, ‘I’ll try to go but I think it’s going to get stuck. Definitely don’t eat this! Everything that was made earlier is much nicer.
As they waited for the pie to cook, she said, “I wish there was music or something!” Maybe I can watch someone else do it next.
During the visit, she wore her long brunette locks loose to her shoulders in a blow dry, opting for a neutral makeup, with a sweep of eyeliner and a touch of blush on her cheeks.
Kate has worn the jacket on a number of occasions in the past, including a visit to Scarborough and an appearance at a cultural center in Reading in November.
Oxford House is a family-run nursing home that first opened its doors to residents in 1980.
The mother-of-three’s visit today comes amid a busy period for Kate, who walked the red carpet alongside the Prince of Wales on Sunday night at the BAFTAs.
The princess sent royal fans wild as she appeared to give her husband, Prince William, a cute butt tap while she was at the event.
When the couple arrived at the Royal Festival Hall in London, Kate and the prince appeared to exchange a few words, before she leaned over and appeared to tap behind him.
It was a rare PDA moment for the couple, who looked relieved and overjoyed to attend the event, which has become an annual event for them.
Kate chose a one-shoulder dress by Alexander McQueen for the occasion, which she first wore to the event in 2019.
The off-the-shoulder white dress has undergone a few minor alterations, with floral motifs on the shoulder replaced by a comprehensive array of materials.
