Russia criticizes Poland over the seizure of the “spy nest” in Warsaw

Moscow criticized in Poland After the authorities seized a secondary school near Russia’s embassy in Warsaw, promising a “harsh response” to the detention they claimed was a flagrant violation of international conventions.

The school confiscation comes amid growing tension in relations between Moscow and Warsaw, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Warsaw positioned itself as one of the main allies of Kiev, having played a decisive role in persuading other countries to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine.

In March 2022, Poland said it had ordered the expulsion of 45 Russian diplomats believed to be intelligence officers.
