The Packers advertise deals with 12 unoccupied free agents, including Brenton Cox

The Packers announced the signing of 12 unoccupied free agents on Monday. It has an interesting name.

Brenton Cox, Jr. has kicked out from Georgia and Florida during his career. He participated in combine and pro day for Florida, running a 4.82 in 40 with a 33-inch vertical drop, a 9-foot-7 wide jump and 24 reps in the bench press.

A five-star recruit, Cox played as a true freshman at Georgia before being fired by the Bulldogs. He played three more seasons in Florida, with the Gators firing him during the 2022 season.

In eight games last season, Cox made 35 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks.

Cox recorded 137 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 10 pass breakups in 46 college games, 34 of them starts.


Another signing by the Packers was Appalachian State linebacker Henry Pearson. Ole Miss Receiver Malik Heath; Tulane receiver Duece Watts; Florida tight end Camryn McDonald; UAB attacking tackle Kadeem Telfort; Minnesota guard Chuck Villaga; Illinois State defensive lineman Jason Lewan; Keshawn Banks, San Diego State quarterback; SMU quarterback Jimmy Phillips Jr.; northern Iowa safety Benny Sapp; and Baylor safety Christian Morgan.
