The Swedish Presidency of the European Union is pushing for the adoption in Brussels of the EC proposal on the reform of the migration and asylum system. However, according to unofficial information from the PAP, doubts about the plan are growing in EU countries. Countries in Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland, are among those opposed to the EC proposal.
According to PAP information, a diplomatic debate was held in Brussels on Monday, during which the countries of Central and Eastern Europe opposed the EC’s proposal of EUR 22,000 per migrant in case of refusal to relocate.

The proposal was directly supported by Greece and Luxembourg. She was opposed by Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia, Romania and Slovakia. Germany has doubts.

The Swedes, who hold the EU presidency, want to reach a compromise between EU countries on the matter by the end of June, but according to PAP sources, divisions between member states are too big to do so.
There is no shortage of voices in Brussels that Russia could exploit disputes between member states over migration.
