Rising crime among young residents is becoming a growing problem in one of the Netherlands’ largest cities. One idea to bring them back to society is entrepreneurship courses.

Bring young offenders back into society

“A similar project was carried out in the city of Spijkenisse and worked well there,” argues Rotterdam councilor Ingrid Koenradi in De Telegraaf. He argues that the courses also help to “immunize” teenagers from delinquency.

During the eight-week training, young people are taught how to run a legitimate business, such as selling cars or real estate.
