The Rashid trailer for Street Fighter 6 has been released

It’s been a little over a month, but it’s finally time to see what Street Fighter 6’s first DLC character looks like in action.

Capcom just released the official trailer for Rashid in SF6, which shows off his gameplay as well as a launch date later this month.

The trailer appears to start with Rashid’s main introduction to the game’s World Tour mode, so it’ll be interesting to see how the DLC characters work out in SF6’s story.

Like many of the game’s returning characters, Rashid will also have access to his original Street Fighter 5 outfit, which is briefly shown here.

The gameplay starts with what appears to be some new benchmarks that the wind-based fighter will be able to hit as well as what appears to be a flashier version of his uppercut elbow, but that’s just scratching the surface.

The running dash from the SF5 is back and it looks like it has new options to unlock from the inclusion of a side-switch slide.

The Spinning Mixer, Whirlwind Shot, and Eagle Spike all return as special moves from SF5 as well as some new moves that make Rashid flip and jump off his tornadoes.

Super Rashid Kick looks likely to be the first level of Super Art, a multi-stroke version of the Eagle Spike while its second level appears to be a new take on SF5’s Ysaar V-Trigger.

We can also see Rashid being a Level 3 Super as well, causing him to send the opponent flying away in a tornado from which he jumps to knock them down several times before bouncing back to the ground for his audience watching.

Along with the promo, Capcom has confirmed that Rashid will be released on July 24 as the first DLC character from the Year 1 Pass though he will also be purchasable on his own.

After Rashid, newcomer AKI will be the second SF6 DLC character coming this fall followed by Ed this winter and Akuma next spring.

This week, Capcom also released the Rashid Up to SF6 pass, which adds new elements to the game to unlock the Mr. Turbulent Winds theme here.
