Taylor Swift takes back talk now, literally, in her new “I Can See You” video. The song is one of the songs “From the Vault” included on their newly re-recorded 2010 third studio LP.
In the new visual, which Swift wrote and directed, Taylor Lautner and Joey King are seen in a museum on a mission to rescue Swift from a vault, where she’s stuck along with her award possession, her framed cover art. talk now. The two set sail Mission: ImpossibleScenes are like, with Presley Cash serving as communications director behind the scenes, complete with trick lasers and fight scenes against those trying to stop them from getting away with what’s right in Swift. The clever clip is, of course, a metaphor for her reclaiming her artistry from her former record label, Big Machine, whose master record sale prompted her to re-record her entire catalog by lover.
She made her video debut last night, July 7, at her show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri alongside her three co-stars.
The inclusion of Lautner, who Swift once dated, and King also had additional meaning, eg Notice Swift on Twitter.
Hmm. So. I’ve been counting down for months, and the “I Can See You” video finally came out. I wrote this video treatment over a year ago and really wanted to symbolically say how I feel when fans help me get my music back. My heart was racing. @employeeand Taylor Lautner @employee Shine in it,” she wrote. “Joe and Presley were in the video for “Mean” when they were 9 and 13 and back and a really bad ass!!”
She also gave Lautner props for his stunts.
She added, “Taytay is incredible at this (he didn’t have a stunt double!) and shout out to Tay Lautner for being so cool to hang out on set.” “Story 3 Taylor I always wanted to direct a fight scene/heist storyline and had an incredible time planning this with the amazing DP Jonathan Cella. So proud of that.”
