Citing unnamed sources, the portal reported on Monday from the airport in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic. About 500-600 mobilized mercenaries of Wagner’s group flew to Moscow in three flights.
Earlier on July 7, Sky News reported that around 400 Wagner ships flew from Bangui to Moscow near the border with Cameroon. A day later, NBC News reported that 600 Russians had flown from Bangkok to Moscow.
Experts point out that this may be related to Vladimir Putin’s acquisition of the Wagner Group’s assets in Africa.It follows Yevgeny Prigozhin’s failed rebellion against the Russian military leadership.

The Wagner Group’s most developed business operations are conducted in the Central African Republic, where it has been since 2018. He came to bolster the regime of President Faustin-Archange Tutera, who was fighting rebels.

The Wagner group is also active (albeit with varying intensity) in other African countries – In Kenya, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Madagascar.
