We broke the story – Graham was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer.

NFL running back Jimmy Graham hit a roadblock — New Orleans Saints suspect was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance Friday night… after cops said they saw him wandering into traffic.

TMZ Sports I learned… that law enforcement responded to a call of a suspicious person behaving erratically near a resort in Southern California.

At the scene, cops claimed to have seen Graham walking the streets… and tried to arrest him, but he resisted.

Ultimately, the 36-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying, and obstructing a police officer — both misdemeanors.

Graham has since been released. The incident is currently under investigation.

FYI – the Saints are in town prepping for their preseason game against the Chargers on Sunday…and spent part of their training camp doing a cross-training with their upcoming opponent earlier this week.

Graham played for the Saints, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears over the course of his 12-year career…and is set to return this season after missing the 2022 campaign.

He signed a one-year deal to return to New Orleans in July.
