The father of Tennessee Titans player Caleb Farley was killed in a massive explosion early Tuesday at the multimillion-dollar home of the NFL star.
Robert Farley, 61, was killed and another person sustained non-life-threatening injuries when a Morrisville, North Carolina home was leveled, according to Iredell County Emergency Management Director Kent Green.
Caleb Farley was seen speaking to authorities at the scene after the explosion. Green said he was not home at the time of the explosion.
The home, valued at just over $2 million, according to real estate records, was completely leveled in the blast.
Authorities said the investigation into the cause of the blast was still ongoing.
Caleb Farley, 24, was selected in the first round by the Titans out of Virginia Tech in 2021, though he has played sparingly due to injuries. He only played in three games as a starter and then nine last season.
He grew up in Maiden, North Carolina, about 25 miles east of Morrisville, and was a star quarterback at Maiden High School.
Caleb Farley’s mother, Robin, She died of breast cancer in January 2018.
