One UI 5.1.1 update is live for Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3

Samsung is now rolling out the One UI 5.1.1 firmware update for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in Europe and Asian countries.

In Europe, the update is available for Galaxy Z Fold 3 (SM-F926B) with the latest firmware version F926BXXU5FWH5. For Galaxy Z Flip 3 (SM-F711B), the update can be identified by the firmware version F711BXXU6FWH3.

In addition to the One UI 5.1.1 update, which is very important, the latest firmware also brings the August 2023 security patch.

New multitasking capabilities and flex mode

The One UI 5.1.1 update brings similar features and changes to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, although some additions are device-specific.

Both foldable phones now benefit from improved multitasking thanks to:

  • Better app previews on the recent apps screen
  • You can easily switch from popup view to split screen
  • Restore popups captured on the edge of the screen

However, Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifically also benefits from a new feature that allows users to hover the S Pen over a floating app icon to see an app preview.

Both phones can now use more apps in Flex mode, offering a customizable Flex mode toolbar as well as improved Flex mode media controls.

Similarly, both devices feature improved Quick Share and Samsung Health best with:

  • Improve sleep training
  • More meaningful sleep data
  • Measure skin temperature while sleeping
  • Better workout summaries
  • Improved objectives, rewards and badges

In the Camera and Gallery section, the One UI 5.1.1 update for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 adds the following:

  • More date and time styles for watermarks
  • Improved Remaster previews
  • Effects are easier to apply
  • Users can now copy and paste filters and tones from one photo to another

Once again, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 benefits from a couple of exclusive features, including an improved Flexible Mode layout for Pro camera modes and a new option to select multiple photos in Capture View.

Last but not least, although only the Galaxy Z Fold 3 now lets you charge your Galaxy Buds or Galaxy Watch while still using the cover screen, One UI 5.1.1 adds the following features to both phones:

  • Drag and drop with both hands
  • App cache information and management in My files
  • Improved memory management in Device Care
  • Options to change the mode from the lock screen
  • Samsung Internet layout improvements
