“It’s obvious that various versions are being considered, including the version – you know what we’re talking about – let’s say a deliberate crime,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by the agency.
Asked whether the International Civil Aviation Organization would investigate the crash, Peskov said circumstances had changed, although he cautioned that investigators have yet to reach formal conclusions about what exactly happened. “We will await the results of our Russia investigation,” he said.
Prigogine’s funeral remains shrouded in mystery
The organization of Prigogine’s funeral was shrouded in mystery. The Kremlin had earlier announced that Vladimir Putin would not attend the ceremony.
The funeral was private and took place in a cemetery on the outskirts of St. Petersburg, the news service of Prigozhin’s company – Concord reported on Tuesday.
Prigozhin’s Embraer private jet flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed in Russia on August 23, killing all 10 people on board.
The plane crash came two months after the start of a brief rebellion by the Wagnerites, led by Prigozhin, who controlled the city of Rostov and then moved on to Moscow.
