Gwyneth Paltrow has issued a plea to Marvel fans everywhere.
On Wednesday, the Goop founder answered her followers’ questions on her Instagram Story and responded to an emotional post that demanded Paltrow “answer the question” about why she would stop appearing in Marvel movies.
“Oh. Me. God. Stop yelling at me,” Paltrow joked in her video response, going on to say, “We stopped doing that because Iron Man died.”
She went on to ask, “Why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know…” and then suggested fans “call Marvel and yell at them, not me! I’m just sitting here.”
The Oscar winner has not appeared as Potts in a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film since 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” – the film in which Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), aka Tony Stark, died.
Paltrow first appeared as Potts, Stark’s personal assistant-turned-love interest, in 2008’s “Iron Man” and went on to portray the character for more than a decade in two “Iron Man” sequels and three “Iron Man” sequels. “Avengers” movies.
She also appeared as Boots in the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming, but she hilariously admitted to Iron Man director Jon Favero and celebrity chef Roy Choi that she I didn’t even remember Being in the Tom Holland-led film during a 2019 episode of Netflix’s “The Chef Show.”
Despite her vague memory and Stark’s death, Paltrow suggested she was open to the idea of returning to the MCU earlier this year while speaking with Scarlett Johansson (aka Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff) on Podcast Job.
“I mean I’m not dead, so I guess they can always ask me (to come back),” she said.
So, can we get this number for Marvel? We would like to make a call…
