NATO military chief: If Russia enters an alliance country, it will soon regret it.

In a detailed interview with the “NRC” newspaper published on Monday, Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer, the head of the NATO military group, noted that even the long-term perspective of Russia’s war against Ukraine will not weaken morale in NATO. We will continue to support Ukraine – the admiral was assured.

He estimated that NATO allies understood the stakes of this war better than anyone else. “Sometimes I wonder if those who ask questions about continued support really understand the consequences of a Russian victory in Ukraine,” Bauer said, adding that they go beyond Ukraine’s continued sovereignty.

– If Russia wins, it will not be the end of the conflict, Moscow’s hunger will not be satisfied – the admiral said.

At the same time, he said, it is foolish to say that Ukraine will easily recover the lost territory, including Crimea and Donbass. – Not only because of Russian security, but because there are 350,000 people in the captured area. Russian players, Bauer noted.

A Dutch military official believes that NATO countries should transform their economies into “a kind of war economy”. Mere announcements of allocating additional financial resources are not enough, he says, as there is a need to increase production of ammunition and military equipment. – Do not order more, increase production capacity – admiral request.
