“Who gets what and how much money is spent on whom” debate

According to investigators, the 14-year-old who opened fire Sunday went Christmas shopping with his mother, older brother, 23-year-old sister and her sons: 11 months and 6 years old. While searching for Christmas presents, he and his family had arguments over “who gets what and how much money is spent on whom.” She continued arguing with her brother after shopping at her grandmother's house in Largo, Florida, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said at a news conference Tuesday.

An argument over the prize-giving ended in a shootout

After breaking into his grandmother's house, the 14-year-old boy “took out his gun, pointed it (at his 15-year-old brother) and said he was going to shoot him in the head,” the investigator said. It is said that the elder brother then did not want to argue with him and ordered the 14-year-old boy to leave the house. Then the teenagers' uncle got into an argument and separated the brothers and took the younger one out of the building. There the 14-year-old met his 23-year-old sister. The woman tried to convince him to end the argument. The boy then hurled various abuses at her and threatened to kill her and her 11-month-old baby. He then fired at her, Sheriff Gualtieri said.

Hearing the noise, the brother also came in front of the grandmother's house. According to Sheriff Gualtieri, the teenager pulled out his own gun and fired one shot at the 14-year-old boy. Then he fled from there.

Both a 23-year-old and a 14-year-old were taken to a nearby hospital. The woman's injuries turned out to be fatal. His younger brother underwent surgery and his condition is now stable. The two youths involved in the shooting were arrested. Cases of murder and attempted murder have also been registered against them.
