Trevor Noah to host the 2024 Grammys

The 2024 Grammy Awards mark Trevor Noah's fourth consecutive year as host of music's biggest night.
In his opening monologue, Noah took a moment to praise all the musicians — nominated for this year's awards or otherwise. “These people write the soundtrack to our lives,” he said.
The comedian pointed out Barbie Music producer Mark Ronson called him one of the greatest producers of all time. He continued by saying that Ronson's mother-in-law, Meryl Streep, will be sitting at the table there.
Then, Streep accidentally smashed the editorial herself when she arrived to her seat late. The Oscar-winning actress apologized to the host, who told her she didn't need to.
“This moment is here. Do you know what that means? The Grammys are going to win the Oscars,” he joked. “I don’t know how. I want to thank both academies. Thank you very much.”

Near the end of his monologue, Noah called out TikTok after Universal pulled all of its artists' music from TikTok.
“Right now, the CEO of TikTok is probably sitting at home watching the show, eating ice cream, crying, and seeing all his exes in one room,” Noah said. “And you know what, TikTok? Shame on you. Shame on you for ripping off all these artists. Yeah, shame on you! How dare you do that? That's Spotify's job.”
Noah has hosted before, however, this is his first time serving as emcee for the evening while receiving an award. He was competing with Wanda Sykes, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle for Best Comedy Album, and Chappelle took home the award earlier in the night.
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter Ahead of the awards ceremony, Noah spoke about competing against fellow comedians for the trophy.
“I don't take those moments for granted. I think to myself how crazy it is to be in the same category as these people,” he said of competing against some of his “heroes.” “Those are my teachers and my friends. “This is a surreal experience.”
