This year's 20 best European destinations were chosen using the votes of around one million people from 172 countries. The Spanish city of Marbella took first place ahead of Monaco and Malta in the race for the title.

As described by Europe's Best Destinations, the city, which takes the honorable first place on this list, attracts primarily with its sunny climate, excellent local cuisine and its impressive golf courses. It turns out that the priority expectations of tourists towards the place where they want to rest. And they asked participants in a tourism market survey to vote for Marbella.

The most famous point on the map of southern Spain, the capital of luxury, the port of the most expensive yachts and considered a mecca for lovers of boutiques with the collections of the best fashion houses. Due to the number of guests who come here, it has been compared to Saint-Tropez. Suffice it to mention that Audrey Hepburn and Sean Connery had their homes in Marbella, and today Cristiano Ronaldo often visits it.

Malta and Monaco round out the podium

Monaco and Malta also took their place on the podium, ahead of interesting destinations such as Geneva and Georgian Batumi. Further down the list, but still in the top ten, are also Riga, Madeira, Florence, London and Reykjavik. Some of these destinations are, of course, well-known to travelers and often rated high in similar tourism rankings. However, this summary showed one more important trend.
