Eagles finalize coaching staff under Nick Sirianni for 2024 NFL season – NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Eagles on Friday announced their entire coaching staff for the 2024 season with plenty of changes following a disastrous end to last season.

Although we already knew about several changes to Nick Sirianni's staff — including new coordinators Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore — plenty of new pieces were released on Friday. While almost the entire defense was replaced, several offensive coaches remained.

Here's a complete look at the 2024 coaching staff:

New coaches

Vic Fangio, defensive coordinator
Kellen Moore, offensive coordinator
Christian Parker, passing game/defensive backs coordinator
Clint Hurt, senior defensive assistant/defensive lineman
Roy Anderson, cornerback
Joe Casper, safety
Bobby King, Inside Linebackers
Doug Nussmeier, quarterback
Kyle Valero, offensive assistant

Notes:

• The Eagles had inexperienced coordinators in 2023 after the departure of Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon, the promotion of Brian Johnson and the hiring of Sean Desai. Both have now gone in favor of men who previously held coordinating positions. Fangio, in particular, has a lot of experience as a DC and HC.

• The only new offensive coach is Nussmeier, who came in as a package deal with Moore after working with him in Dallas and Los Angeles. He will coach Jalen Hurts and the QBs. He has previously worked with Dak Prescott and Justin Herbert.

• On defense, we already knew about Parker, Hurt, Casper and King. Meanwhile, Anderson spent last season as Seattle's defensive backs coach, working under Hurt, who was the DCs' head coach. Before last season in Seattle, Anderson was at Minnesota for a few seasons and before that at LSU. He coached safety for the Colts from 2012-15. It was initially reported that former Seahawks passing game coordinator Carl Scott was coming for the position but he remained in Seattle and the Eagles hired Anderson instead.

• It is worth noting that the structure of the secondary school is slightly different this year. The Eagles have a DBs coach/passing game coordinator in Parker (who worked under Fangio in Denver) and then two coaches under him. There is no designated nickel coach as there was last season under Desai.

Return of the coaches

Nick Sirianni, Head Coach
Michael Clay, special teams coordinator
Jamal Singleton, running backs/assistant coach
Kevin Pattullo, passing game coordinator/associate head coach
Jeff Stoutland, run game/offensive line coordinator
Jason Michael, tight ends
Aaron Moorhead, wide receivers
Jeremiah Washburn, defensive ends/outside linebacker
Joe Pannunzio, assistant special teams coordinator
Tyler Brown, special teams assistant
Eric Dickerson, offensive quality control

Notes:

• It's notable how many members of the offensive staff stick together. The only coaches leaving that side of the ball are Johnson, Marcus Brady, Roy Istvan and Alex Tanney. The Eagles retained Pattullo, Stotland, Singleton, Michael and Moorhead. So most of Sirianni's offensive staff but there's a new system and play caller in Moore.

• The only head coach remaining on defense is Washburn, who will coach the available players once again. Washburn takes over that role in 2022. He is a coach praised by the Eagles for his coaching ability and history on the personal side of players.

• It's not surprising to see the Eagles back with all three of their coaches on special teams. This was the only area for the team in 2023 that did not disappoint. Clay has received a contract extension since the end of the season.

The coaches return with new titles

TJ Paganetti, play-run specialist/offensive line assistant
Ronnell Williams, assistant linebacker/defensive quality control
Tyler Scudder, defensive quality control
Tyler Yelk, Lead Quality Control Trainer

Notes:

• Williams was the Nickels' head coach last season but will take over as assistant running backs coach in 2023. He appears to be the coach the Eagles would have liked to find a spot for. The Chester, Pennsylvania native is still there.

• Paganetti is now entering his tenth season with the Eagles and will coach Istvan. He had a lot of different titles during those seasons.

• Scudder is in his fourth season with the Eagles. He joins the Eagles as an assistant coach and last year was assistant running backs coach.

• Yelk earned the title of assistant head coach and now provides quality control to the head coach. He previously coached at Idaho, Temple, Northern Illinois, South Dakota and more.
