Japanese company Pasco Shikishima has decided to recall 100,000 packages of its popular bread from sale after rat remains were found in several loaves. The company apologized for the inconvenience and promised to strengthen quality control.
In a statement released Wednesday, Japanese company Basco Shikishima said pieces of a small animal were found in several loaves of white bread. He later confirmed to CNN that the remains were rat remains. The contaminated loaves were made at a factory in Akishima, Tokyo Prefecture, the company said.
