Kate Middleton cancer update: Princess of Wales ‘making good progress’ with treatment as she returns to Trooping the Color

Princess Kate announces cancer diagnosis

The Princess of Wales has issued a poignant statement about her ongoing battle with cancer and announced she will attend Trooping the Color tomorrow.

Kate, 42, revealed she has good days and bad days as she undergoes “preventive chemotherapy” for an unknown form of the disease.

She said she has been “blown away” by the good wishes she and her family have received since she announced her diagnosis in an emotional video in March.

Admitting that she was “not out of the woods yet,” the princess said she would return to her light duties and helping her three children with their schoolwork when she felt well enough.

The Princess said she was looking forward to King Charles’s official Christmas parade, which will be her first public appearance since Christmas Day last year.

A spokesman for the House of Representatives in Buckingham said King Charles was “delighted” that his daughter-in-law would join the family at Saturday’s events.

It is believed that the Princess will appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the King’s Birthday Parade, which will conclude the event.

The Princess of Wales announces her return

It read: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the past two months. It has made such a difference to William and me and has helped us get through some tough times.

“I’m making good progress, but as anyone who’s been through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days. “Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”

Cost of color troops

The Ministry of Defense (MOD) revealed it spent £59,662.70 on the 2021 event on transport, fuel, horse food and temporary accommodation.

However, the total was much higher because this was not all the costs incurred by the parade, which falls on the King’s official birthday.

A more significant sum of £28 million was allocated to cover the event and the then Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations, which included four days of public events. An additional eight million was spent on security for the event by the Metropolitan Police.

Statista Reports indicate that the sovereign grant for this financial year amounts to £86.3 million – the same amount allocated in 2022 and 2023.
