241 Bethesda Game Studios Workers Join Union.
Bethesda Game Studios’ union recognition by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) represents “the first wall-to-wall union at Microsoft.”
“We, the majority of developers at Bethesda Game Studios in Dallas, Rockville, and Austin, are thrilled to announce the formation of our alliance with the CWA. Together as #OneBGSUSA, we are advocating for the betterment of every developer in BGS, and setting a new standard for our industry.
“As a democratic organization, we seek to empower the collective desires of our studio workers; to provide a safe, sustainable, and fair work environment for all. Having a proper seat at the table allows us to turn these desires into reality.

“By joining in solidarity with our fellow members of ZeniMax Workers, OneBGS_MTL, and all CWA unions, we are pushing for increased job security, compensation transparency, and flexibility to continue creating the games we love.”
“As we work toward our first contract with Microsoft, we hope you will join us in expressing your support as we serve as an example for all, in the next era of game development,” the statement concluded.
Microsoft has It said “I acknowledge the union.”
Bethesda is one of several studios that have moved to unionize in response to more than 15,000 job cuts and studio closures over the past 18 months. In April, Just Cause developer Avalanche confirmed plans to enter into a collective bargaining agreement with Swedish unions.
