Microsoft has confirmed that Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on July 24, following multiple reports. In another major development for Modern Warfare, Deadline reported Plans for a fourth installment in the new Modern Warfare series are in the works.
The date was originally revealed during XboxEra Podcast. The leaker eXtas1s has made a backup of this.and then Insider-Gaming has confirmed this date. Microsoft is known to announce Game Pass games on Tuesdays, and that’s exactly what happened here. On Tuesday, July 23, Microsoft announced that Modern Warfare 3 would be coming to Game Pass on July 24.
Subscribers to Game Pass for consoles, Game Pass for PC, and Game Pass Ultimate can play Modern Warfare III starting July 24. However, it is not available on any other tier of Game Pass.
Modern Warfare III is the latest Call of Duty game, launching in November 2023. It is the first Call of Duty game to come to Game Pass since Microsoft completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 2023.
July 24 is also the day that Call of Duty Season 5 arrives in Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile, so this is set to be a huge week for Call of Duty. Ahead of launch, you can see all of the new Season 5 Battle Pass items and BlackCell DLC.
Looking ahead, the Black Ops 6 beta begins in August ahead of the game’s release in late October. Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass right away, but only for the higher-priced tiers. Those who subscribe to the new Game Pass Standard tier won’t get Black Ops 6 at launch.
As for the fourth Modern Warfare game that Deadline mentioned, there isn’t a lot of reliable information. The source of the information was an interview with Barry Sloan, who plays Price in the Modern Warfare series. However, the interview made no mention of Modern Warfare 4 at all. However, it wouldn’t be at all surprising for Activision to make another game given the series’ massive success.
