James Corden is leaving The Late Late Show in 2023

The host of “The Late Late Show” is set to clear his seat in 2023, concluding what will at that point be eight seasons.

Corden is getting emotional As he talks about his decision in his Thursday evening monologue.

“When I started this journey, it was always like this,” he said. “It will be a journey, an adventure. I have never seen it as a last destination,” he said. “I never want this show to be out of date in any way. I always want to love making it. And I really think a year from now it will be a good time to move on and see what else there might be.”

Corden added that he intends next season to be the “best year” on the show and “go out with a bang.”
