Crew members on the Food Network The worst cooks in America They went on strike to seek a union contract and representation by the International Alliance of Theater Employees. The cooking competition show, starring Ann Burrell and Jeff Mauro, debuted in 2010 and is now in its 26th year.
“The crew is on strike in order to have their union recognized, and therefore their aim is to conclude a union contract,” said Jonas Loeb, a spokesman for IATSE. “The crew has been out and ready to negotiate since Wednesday.”
In a strike alert posted on social media, IATSE said, “Crew The worst cooks in America Strikers in Long Island City as Bright Road Productions refuse to offer fair wages and benefits. The worst cooks serve below average wages; The benefits are not on the list.”

She added, “For far too long, the crews of non-scripted television programs have been without industry standard pay and benefits. Now, they are coming together to demand the best.”
