She got lost on the street and an ATM helped her
The lost child thought of how to find help. Nearby, an eight-year-old boy noticed a room with ATMs equipped with a button to call for help. This button connects to the bank’s monitoring center. One of the employees of Quzhou Rural Commercial Bank received the call, who asked the girl to be quiet and called the police. A short time later, the eight-year-old, safe and sound, was handed over to her grandfather, who searched for her, according to the South China Morning Post. And his determination drew applause from Chinese netizens.
“This is the first time I know you can use an ATM this way. Kudos to the smart lady and friendly staff,” wrote one of them. “I feel like I’m not as smart as this kid. I learned a new skill today in emergency,” read another comment under the caption “SCMP.”
