— I believe that many of these challenges can be overcome and mitigated by building regional connectivity, a key component of infrastructural resilience. It is very important for global development. Andrzej Duda emphasized that he is proud to have initiated and led the UN Program for Regional Cooperation and Sustainable Development. – 80 countries representing all regions supported the joint effort of Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, El Salvador, Estonia, Japan, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania. The President informed that it was accepted in the General Assembly.
– This resolution sends a very strong signal that investment in infrastructure and sustainable development is a global priority. Importantly, it is proof of our connection to the dialogue with the countries of the Global South, said Andrzej Duda.
The President also thanked the President of the General Assembly for organizing the debate on sustainable development. – This is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between individual regions – he emphasized.

– Although crises and challenges occur worldwide, each region is affected by them differently and responds differently. Poland launched the resolution inspired by specific examples such as the Three Seas Initiative created in 2015 by European countries between the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Seas, the president said. – Over the past nine years, joint action has contributed to increasing the security and prosperity of the European Union, mainly through infrastructure links, he added.
