Apple has reportedly postponed the launch of its highly anticipated device due to “technical challenges.”
The foldable MacBook, which has been rumored since 2019, was originally scheduled to launch next year, but has been delayed until early 2026 or even 2028.
The computer is expected to have dual use, as it can be used as a laptop with an on-screen keyboard when folded, or as a monitor with an external keyboard when open.
Apple is having issues with the display and mechanical components of the 18.8-inch model that uses a single touchscreen on both the top and bottom halves of the device.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst known for leaking information about Apple products, said in a report published by the Express website: mail “Some market participants previously expected Apple to launch a foldable iPad in 2025, but the current supply chain survey suggests that a foldable iPad is out of sight.”

Apple insiders say the device was originally scheduled to launch in less than two years, but has now been delayed due to a “creased screen.”
The company is reportedly “still evaluating component specifications and performance, with stringent requirements for flex and reliability,” according to 9to5mac This means that the device is unlikely to launch before 2027.
