While hosting “Saturday Night Live” on February 3, Ayo Edebiri admitted to jokes she's made in the past about Jennifer Lopez, who served as the episode's musical guest.
In a game show sketch in which Kenan Thompson forced contestants to reckon with their rude social media presence, Edbury nodded at the recently resurfaced comments, saying, “Okay. We get it. It's wrong to leave bad comments, or post comments just for clout,” Or running your mouth on a podcast, and you're not considering the impact because you're 24 and stupid. But I think I speak for everyone when I say from now on, we're going to be more thoughtful about what we put online.
Edebiri appeared on a 2020 episode of “Scam Goddess,” where host Laci Mosley said that “Lopez’s entire career is one long scam” and that the singer was unaware of people criticizing her.
“Well, that's the thing – she thinks she's on multiple tracks, but it's not her. I think she thinks she's still good, even though she's not singing most of these songs,” Edibiri replied.
She continued, “A lot of the songwriting will be like, 'J.Lo didn't have time to get to the studio.'” Like, “J.Lo was busy.” did what? He obviously doesn't sing.
Lopez did not appear in any sketches during the episode, but he stood alongside Edebiri in them A promo was released prior to the episode. “I love your show,” Lopez gushed, to which Edebiri responded, “I love everything you do.”
