Kiska, Also known as the world’s saddest killer whale, Born on the coast of Iceland. In 1979, when she was three years old, her carefree life in the jungle was cruelly cut short. She was captured and ended up at Marineland Park in Ontario, Canada.
During her early years in captivity, Kiska lived with four other orcas, one of whom was Keiko, the star of the movie Free Willy. However, he happily returned to the sea, and Kiska was held captive until her last breath. A captive killer whale gave birth to four calves, but they all died very quickly.
After all, Kiska has been completely single since 2011. Over the years the park authorities have not taken any steps to take care of the animals.
According to activists, this is exceptional cruelty because killer whales are herd animals that live in groups of five to forty individuals, and living alone is torture for them.
Frustrated, the orca attempted suicide
In 2021, activists released a shocking video of Kiska banging her head against a wall in frustration.
Marineland Park staff released a statement expressing grief over Kiska’s death.
“Marineland’s marine mammal team and experts have done everything possible to keep Kiska comfortable and will mourn her loss,” they wrote.
Many people have commented on this post. Not everyone is accommodated.
