Cane to face the Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final

The Florida Panthers also took care of business in Game 5, shutting out the Toronto Maple Leafs and advancing to the Conference Finals for the first time since 1996.

The upcoming series will be the first time the Canes and Panthers have met in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Carolina and Florida met three times during the 82-game regular season, with the Metropolitan Division champions winning two of the two games.

Schedule information about the series is expected to be released by the NHL in the coming days. The Canes have home ice advantage, which means that Games 1 and 2, as well as 5 and 7, if necessary, will be at PNC Arena.
