Devil May Cry character designer Magnum Opus with Final Fantasy XVI

Ryota Suzuki is the battle director for Final Fantasy XVI, but before signing up with Square Enix, he spent more than two decades working on some impressive action games for Capcom, such as Devil May Cry 5, Dragon’s Dogma, and Monster Hunter: World.

Suzuki says the next major entry in the long-running Final Fantasy series is his breakthrough creation, announcing in live message: “I really think this game is my masterpiece.”

Suzuki goes on to say that he hopes “those who have never played an action game can go and try Final Fantasy XVI. I hope this game gives you a chance to experience the cuteness that an action game can bring.”

This is exactly the kind of thing we want to hear from the game boss as hype for the game reaches a fever pitch just days after its release. The eagerly anticipated action RPG debuts on June 11th and will apparently require one day after all.
