Yemen’s Houthis admit attack on Israel’s capital According to Israeli officials, the raid resulted in one person being killed and at least 10 others injured.
“Aerial drones of the Yemeni armed forces (…) were used to conduct a high-level military operation. “One of the most important facilities in the occupied area of Jaffa, known as Tel Aviv in Israel, was targeted,” said Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the militants.
The Israel Defense Forces admitted that the drone had been identified before the attack, but that the air defenses had malfunctioned due to human error. The Houthis have announced that they will continue such attacks.
Israel has already had major problems combating drones launched from the North. At the time, the Lebanese Hezbollah was responsible for these types of operations.
Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Haldai said the explosion was caused by a drone strike. Then pieces of the machine fell on the city. The army is yet to confirm this version, but has announced that patrols will be strengthened.
Reuters acknowledged that it was unclear how the drone penetrated Israel’s air defense zone and how the country’s authorities would respond to the attack.
“Police forces have arrived at the scene (of the incident) and are looking for suspicious items,” the police said in an earlier press release, adding that “obey safety rules and do not approach or touch debris or debris.” Materials are “explosive”.
