Electronic Arts has added nine classic games to Steam including… Golden Dungeon KeeperSim City 3000An open-world action game set in the World War II era The saboteur, It was previously removed from Valve's digital store, but is now back and on sale.
These days, I feel like I'm spending more time writing and reading about games It has been deleted, Deleted, cancelledOr stuck on old platforms. Earlier today, on March 8, I was reading posts from developers on how to do this Warner Bros. plans to Discovery to delete about a dozen games from Steam With a little warning. So I'll take any good news I can get, like EA bringing some classic PC games to Steam, making them easier to play on hardware like the Steam Deck.
On March 7thEA has announced that nine classic PC games have been added to Steam. The publisher even made a small trailer announcing the news. How cute.
Here's the full list of games EA has just added to Steam:
- Command and Conquer Ultimate Collection
- Sim City 3000 Unlimited
- Densely populated
- Populous II: Trials of the Olympian Gods
- Densely Populated: The Beginning
- Golden Dungeon Keeper
- Dungeon keeper 2
- Alpha Centauri Planet Pack by Sid Meier
- The saboteur
GREAT BONUS: In the meantime, to celebrate these games coming to Steam, EA has them all for sale.
Now to be clear, most of these games were already available on GOG. So, it's not as if EA is pulling these games out of the void and making them playable again. But it's good to see EA supporting Steam more, and having the option to buy classic games in more places is always a good thing.
Plus, The saboteur It's now back on Steam after being removed from the platform sometime in 2015. Oddly enough, the open-world action game developed by Pandemic – the last O.G. Star Wars Battlefront Developments made before it was made Closed by EA– It was never removed from the EA Digital Storefront on PC or from GOG. It was Steam that lost the game in 2015. But now, nearly a decade later, this gorgeous game featuring gorgeous black-and-white visuals is back. And if you can play it on Valve's Steam Deck, It seems to work well.
Publishers still need to do more for this Supporting old games and preserving them from death or loss over time. So this may not seem like a lot, but it is something At least, it's not bad news, and for now, I think we all deserve some good news. Enjoy your Friday and have a nice weekend.
