The Ravens have eight key absences at the start of practice for their Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts.
These players were not on the field at the start of Wednesday’s training open to the media:
- OLB Jadeveon Clowney
- RB Justice Hill
- CB Marlon Humphrey (foot)
- WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle)
- Olbe Odavi Oye (ankle)
- C Tyler Linderbaum (ankle)
- LT Ronnie Stanley (knee)
- Marcus Williams (chest)
It’s unknown what the issue is with Clowney and Hill, as they finished Sunday’s game in Cincinnati.
Hill got the start and the lion’s share of the snaps in the backfield. He rushed for 41 yards and caught three passes. It could also just be a veteran off day for Clowney after playing 46 and 47 snaps respectively in the first two games.
Head coach John Harbaugh said they were not long-term injuries to Beckham or Oweh, though he declined to provide details.
Humphrey has been sidelined for more than a month after undergoing foot surgery and needs at least some time to train before playing.
Stanley and Linderbaum are down from week to week after suffering their injuries in the first week. Veterans Patrick Mekari and Sam Mustipher stepped in well for them in the Week 2 win over the Bengals.
Although Williams is not undergoing surgery and will not go on injured reserve, there is a “vague time frame” for his return, Harbaugh said Monday.
