Ex-Trump aide rips Donald over Taylor Swift post: 'The saddest thing'

Donald Trump's former aide Alyssa Farrah Griffin said the former president's attempt to cozy up to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce was among the “saddest things” she had ever seen.

Swift gushed about her boyfriend during Sunday's Super Bowl, which ended with Kelsey's Kansas City Chiefs defeating the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, 25-22, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The on-court celebration that followed included the music star joining Kelce on the court for a post-game kiss and hug, followed by a night of partying to celebrate the victory.

In anticipation of the matchup and after the Super Bowl was decided, conspiracy theorists predicted that the Chiefs would win as part of a larger plot by Swift to galvanize the Democratic base — with some, including former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, saying Swift would use the event to formally endorse Democratic President Joe Biden to bring back His election. This never happened.

“Can I mention the Super Bowl highlights that we didn't get to? And I hate getting involved in politics,” Griffin, one of the show's co-hosts, said. the viewhe said during Monday's show. “Donald Trump sent out the thirstiest — i.e. ‘truth’ — tweet ever, basically saying, ‘Taylor Swift should like me and I think Travis Kelce should like me too.’ And it was the funniest thing.”

“I was losing my mind because of it,” she added. [Trump] “He knows how strong they both are as an entity, and this was the saddest thing I've ever seen.”

Griffin was referring to A Truth is a social function Trump posted hours before the big game, addressing the rumors and conspiracies surrounding Swift, Biden, and the 2024 election.

“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other music artists,” Trump wrote. He added: “Joe Biden has not done anything for Taylor, and he never will.

“There is no way she would support crook Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money. Plus, I love her boyfriend Travis, even though I may be a liberal, and I probably can't.” Bear with me!”

Swift's attendance at the game, her 12th appearance to support the Chiefs since she began her relationship with Kelce earlier in the season, was flagged by some online due to CBS cameras being directed at her throughout the contest.

However, its presence at such games has raised the profile of the Kansas City Chiefs brand from a marketing standpoint.

Eric Smallwood, president of Apex Marketing Group, which has conducted research on the economic impact of Swift and Kelce's relationship, recently pegged Swift's financial impact as an estimated $331.5 million windfall. Its broader impact has been called the “Taylor effect”.

It has also attracted new fans to a sport that not only dominates other televised competitive athletics, but has the largest viewership in the United States.
