There aren’t a lot of risks in the first round of fantasy drafts to get jittery, as all of these options offer so much upside that you don’t have to worry overly about any potential red flags. However, Cobb is arguably the most dangerous of the bunch, coming off a high ankle sprain in Week 10 that cost him the last half of the 2022 season before suffering a hamstring injury in the offseason camp. At 30, Cobb carries a little more injury risk than almost anyone else in the first round. There is also concern about him being Kupp’s starting quarterback Matthew Stafford He may not be as healthy as he was coming off of a spinal cord injury that ended his 2022 season.

Of course, the plus side for Kupp is that he’s been the #1 wide receiver in PPR points per game in each of the past two seasons — the ceiling doesn’t go up much for that. No one in this Rams offense is going to have a higher goal quota than Cobb on a weekly basis when he’s in the lineup. Although, with both Cobb and Stafford getting older and out with injuries, it would be understandable for fantasy managers to be reluctant to invest a first-round pick in Cobb in 2023.

Rankings of Cooper Kupp among WRs since 2021:
season PPR points per game (WR rating) Target rate (WR rank) Fantasy points per shot (WR rank)
2022 22.4 (first) 28.1% (third) 0.38 (T-2)
2021 25.9 (first) 30.2% (second) 0.43 (second)
