Matthew Lawrence shares his #MeToo story.
said the actor “Two Brothers Love” podcast listeners on Friday that he lost the role to Marvel after refusing to strip for the director.
Although Lawrence did not identify the person involved, he described them as “very prominent” in the work.
“I lost my agency because I went to the hotel room — which I can’t believe they were going to send me to — of a very prominent Oscar-winning director who showed up in his robe, asked me to undress and said he needed to take Polaroids of me,” the 43-year-old claimed.
“If I do X, Y and Z, I will be the next Marvel character,” he said.
The Mrs. Doubtfire star went on to tell his co-hosts and bro, Joey Lawrence and Andrew Lawrence, that he was then “fired” by his agency.

Matthew added, “Not a lot of guys, in my opinion, have gone out and talked about it in the industry,” saying he’s been “suggested for a lead role…many times in” his life.
The “Boy Meets World” alum, who is now dating TLC member Chilli, explained that his experience was about “a third of what women go through.”
He continued, “Men go through this too, whether it’s another woman or another man in power. I think our society is less willing to hear about this situation with men than it is with women.”
Joey, 47, chimed in to say that he, too, “loses a lot of… big movie parts” when he finds himself at a “crossroads.”
Matthew praised Terry Crews for sharing his own story of sexual assault in November 2017.
The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star, 54, tweeted that “a high-ranking Hollywood executive… touched him at a ‘celebration’ the previous year naming the man Adam Venit, CEO of William Morris Endeavor.
Crews sued the agent in December 2017, with the duo agreeing to settle the lawsuit in September of the following year.
