Valerie Bertinelli shared more about her firing from the Food Network Baking tournament for kids.
After announcing via Instagram that she would not be returning to the competition series, Bertinelli also shared additional thoughts on X when she saw an article about her departure. She has hosted with Duff Goldman since 2015.
“There have never been any talks, so the talks can't be stopped,” she said in response to a headline that suggested she wanted to stay on the cable network but talks had stalled. “I had the thought that I might not be asked back when I saw that I wasn't in the holiday specials. I got a text from a third party on Friday telling me I wouldn't be back. I was basically being ghosted.”
She continued, “I have no ill will toward anyone at FN. I've enjoyed every moment I've worked with them, and they're all lovely, kind, hard-working people. I understand that business is business. But I won't tolerate lies. I'm many things, but I'm not greedy.” And I am not a liar.
Deadline has reached out to the Food Network for comment.
On January 20, Bertinelli shared a video on IG saying “you really hurt my feelings” and was eliminated from the show.

Kids Baking Championship is a competitive reality show that involves kids competing to make the best dish. They are judged on presentation, taste and creativity.

“Oh my God, these people are working so hard to give you a great show,” she said. “And to all those child bakers that I watched grow up: I feel so lucky. I just want you to remember this: You are there for a reason [and] You are some of the best bakers in America right now, and if you don't make it to the next round, please always remember [that] “It's not because you're not a good baker, it's because you had a bad day.”
