Actor Jeremy Renner surprised first responders and hospital staff on Friday with a heartfelt visit to thank them for saving his life one year ago.
On Jan. 1, 2023, the 52-year-old actor was trying to pry a relative's car out of a snowbank at Renner's home in Lake Tahoe. While using the 7-ton Pistenbully snow groomer, Renner exited the cab and the snowplow rolled over onto him. Renner was severely crushed, breaking more than 30 bones. Remarkably, he was extricated and transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where he underwent emergency surgery. His condition remained critical for several days until his health began to improve. He was discharged from the hospital several weeks later.
“One year ago, our friend Jeremy Renner suffered a catastrophic injury that nearly took his life,” Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue said. he wrote on social media Friday. “Our skilled firefighters/paramedics from Station 39 first responded to the scene and took actions that contributed to saving his life. Today our crews visited to express their gratitude.

Along with a trip to the fire station, the Marvel star, who grew up in Modesto, stopped by Renown to thank the medical staff and surprise patients.
“I pay my respects and celebrate the love, life, and blessings it brings to all of us. Thank you and this community for keeping me here,” Renner wrote on Instagram. “I forever owe you a debt of gratitude.”
Renner, who stars in the Paramount+ show “Mayor of Kingstown,” is also set to return to work. His co-star is Emma Laird Celebrate his return To prepare for filming the third season of the series.
