Jordan Davis, the 341-pound Georgia defensive tackle, posted a stunning 4.78-yard dash in Saturday night’s NFL race.
At 6 feet 6 3/8, Davis is taller than Rob Gronkowski and at 341 pounds he is heavier than Jason Peters, In NFL Research. But his 40 time was faster than Patrick Mahomes.
according to ESPN, it’s the fastest time for any player over 300 pounds in the combine since 2006 and is believed to be one of the fastest players of all time at this size. Davis’s wide jump of 10 feet 3 inches is also believed to be a record for a player over 300 pounds.
Davis, 22, made 14 appearances for the Georgia national team last year as a key part of their home streak. He scored five tackles for loss and two sacks, with most of his value coming first and second in reverse.
He also scored a touchdown fast for the Bulldogs. Davis was a unanimous All-American and won the Chuck Bednarek Award and the Outland Trophy.
