The young cop who didn’t know he pulled over pop star Justin Timberlake on a drink-driving charge earlier this week has been identified.
The 23-year-old officer is Michael Arkinson, according to an inmate report from Sag Harbor, New York. Obtained by the Daily Mail Saturday.
The Long Island, New York, native, who was previously stopped by a Gen Z cop, described the outlet as an “overly aggressive” rookie.
“I believe Justin Timberlake was a victim of overly aggressive Sag Harbor police,” said the person identified only as Spencer in the story.
Spencer claimed Arkinson, who is said to turn 24 this month, had previously suspended him for doing a U-turn when no one was there – but eventually let him go with a warning.
The driver further insisted: “It was off season, and no one was there.” It was an advertising move. I felt like he pulled me just to do it.
Spencer reportedly called Arkinson again after he was pulled over for talking on his cell phone, which he claimed was on speaker at the time.
“I thought it would give me a break, and I was driving under 25 mph trying to get to the Y in East Hampton,” Spencer said. The disgruntled New Yorker said he ended up getting a $145 ticket.
Locals in Long Island’s upscale Hamptons neighborhoods reportedly called Arkinson a “Sag Harbor Nazi” and a “little red-headed dip.”
Arkinson, also a native of that area, attended South Hampton High School before playing Lacrosse at Roger Williams University.
He was reportedly promoted to full-time officer in Sag Harbor in March after graduating from the police academy in 2022.
Page Six reached out to Arkinson and his police department for comment but did not immediately receive a response. A rep for Timberlake declined to comment.
Earlier this week, we reported that Arkinson had no idea who the 43-year-old Grammy winner was during their interactions.
“Justin said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour,’” a source told us Tuesday. The policeman replied: Which round? “World tour,” Justin said.
Timberlake was booked into the Sag Harbor Police Department just after midnight Tuesday after he was pulled over for allegedly driving through a stop sign and swerving.
He was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, as well as tickets for ignoring a stop sign and failing to stay in the right lane.
The “Mirrors” singer was seen leaving court Tuesday morning wearing sunglasses and a black baseball cap.
Despite concerns about his tour being interrupted due to his arrest, the *NSYNC member returned to the stage following a DWI arrest Friday night in Chicago as he continues his Forget Tomorrow world tour.
The “SexyBack” singer briefly mentioned his arrest during the show, telling the crowd of cheering fans: “It’s been a tough week.”
He concluded, “I know it’s hard to love me sometimes but you keep loving me back.”
