As news of the SAG-AFTRA strike began to spread, Kevin Bacon celebrated in a familiar way: dancing.
The 65-year-old actor took to Instagram on Thursday morning, sharing a video of himself reprising his famous dance from his breakout role in the 1984 film Footloose.
“The strike is over!” Bacon commented on the post that showed him dancing to Kenny Loggins’ famous song.
The actor, who said he no longer eats bacon, was seen reprising one of his famous dances from the film in a barn, while wearing a pair of cowboy boots.
The post has garnered more than 292,000 likes since it was published earlier on Thursday, while many celebrities expressed their joy in the comments.
Director Nicole Cassell, who directed Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick in the 2004 indie drama The Woodsman, declared, “I love this so much!!” I will love this dance forever and ever. Influential in my childhood.
“This is amazing!!!!!!” added Ethan Hawke, who stars alongside Bacon in the new Netflix film Leave the World Behind.
The Paramount Movies Insagram account — which distributed the original Footloose and the 2011 remake — added a GIF of Bacon’s last dance in the classic film.
Dax Shepard borrowed a line from Dr. Seuss’ book How the Grinch Stole Christmas, saying, “The Grinch’s heart just grew three more!!!!”
“Oh,” actress and dancer Julianne Hough — who starred in the 2011 Footloose reboot with Kenny Wormald — said. for me. Yesssssssss.
Director James Gunn, who directed Bacon himself in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, commented with a raised hands emoji and a fire emoji.
The post comes after Bacon revealed in an issue of People’s Sexiest Man Alive that he no longer eats actual bacon.
“I don’t eat goats anymore, I don’t eat pigs anymore, because I have goats and I have pigs. We can’t have any more animals, because you’ll stop eating everything!” my wife said. The sexiest man alive problem.
The Footloose star – who also has three alpacas and three horses at home – went on to add that he “loves” animals and also grows fresh produce on his farm, so he’s able to enjoy fresh vegetables while feeling like he’s doing his bit for the environment.
“I love animals, they are a joy to be around, and they are very soothing to me. But we also really love going to the garden and getting fresh herbs, tomatoes, basil, peppers or zucchini.
“Taking something hot off the vine that feels warm and smells like it was created by all these natural forces of sun and air and water and earth and dirt, and then putting it back into your body to sustain yourself… It’s a great lesson in terms of how important it is to do our best to try to protect this boat.” In which we all ride.
“I feel like if you’re always eating out or always getting something out, you’re always giving your power away to people who are going to prepare food for you. I can’t do that for the rest of my life. I need more control over what I put in my body.”
