Kiev wants peace, but on Ukraine’s terms

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said last week that the Russian military’s expected spring offensive in Ukraine has already begun. Polish analysts covering the Russian-Ukrainian war say the Russians are looking for weak points in Ukrainian defense lines, trying to wear down defenders and draw Ukrainian reserves into the fray, and the main offensive has yet to take place.

Zelensky announced that the armed forces would hold off the attack until they could launch a counterattack on their own. But to do so, the Ukrainians need Western weapons and equipment, including air defense systems.

Swarich: The F-16 is just a period piece

According to the Ukrainian ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Svarich, the provision of an appropriate amount of modern military equipment will change the situation on the battlefield.

– When we mention how it started, ates, it is with him, there is a secret. We already have – said the ambassador in an interview with TVN24.

The ambassador is sure that this is not the end of the support flow to Ukraine. – I think the F-16 issue is also a matter of time. (…) It will help save many lives and infrastructure. “We need these F-16s to protect the skies above Ukraine and effectively repel the invaders,” said the Ukrainian politician.

Svarich: Kiev prefers peace

Despite the fact that in a few days it will be a year since Russia launched a full-scale aggression against Ukraine, Vasyl Zwarycz assessed that one should not talk about the growing “fatigue”. – This is our struggle for freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is not about fatigue because I believe you can never get tired of fighting for freedom, he said.

When asked about the possibility of ending the war, he said that there is a desire for peace on the part of Kiev as soon as possible. “But it must not be peace at all costs. Peace must be based only on Ukraine’s victory,” he stressed.
