Kingdom Tears: Zelda and Ganondorf Amiibos were announced during Nintendo Direct

Kingdom Tears will be getting two new amiibo: one for Zelda and one for Ganondorf. Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, the Amiibos are joining the already released Tears of the Kingdom Link Amiibo.

The Zelda Amiibo features the heroine of the series wielding the Master Sword, which is sure to be popular with fans. Meanwhile, Ganondorf steps forward and generally looks handsome.

It’s not clear what gameplay benefits the two new Amiibo figures will confer, but they’ll at least look pretty handsome sitting on your shelf. Meanwhile, the hoped-for DLC for Kingdom Tears remains a long way off.

One way or another, though, Kingdom Tears has to remain relevant when these two hit the numbers this holiday. Nintendo’s long-awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild has been hailed as a masterpiece that builds on the original in every way, and the thriving community continues to experiment with its deep and fascinating physics system.

In addition to Amiibos, Nintendo Direct also included remakes of Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Wonder, Pikmin 4, and more. You can find a list of everything that was announced here.
