New Delhi:
Businessman Lalit Modi, who has become a talking point since his relationship with actor Sushmita Sen was announced, has attacked online trolls with a post on Instagram today.
He wrote, “Why is the media so obsessed with trolling me for seemingly wrong tagging. Can someone explain… I think we still live in the Middle Ages where two people can’t be friends, then if chemistry is right and time?” Good thing, magic can happen … My advice: live and let live.”
Mr. Modi posted a series of ten photos on his official Instagram account along with nearly 500 words. It featured photos with figures such as the Dalai Lama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking of his late wife, Minal Modi, he said she was “the love of my life”. “Minal Modi was my best friend for 12 years while we were married. She was not my mother’s girlfriend. Gossip spread through special interests. It is time to get out of this crab mentality,” the former Indian Premier League (IPL) president said.
Addressing the trolls, Lalit Modi said he holds his head higher than “you all can.”
He added, “You call me a fugitive (but) pray tell me of any court ever convicted me. I’ll tell you – no one. Just tell me one other person in our beautiful nation who created what I have.”
A day after Lalit Modi dropped a bombshell on her dating, Sushmita Sen said she was “in a happy place”, refusing to elaborate further because she was “coming back to life and work”.
She said, “I’m in a happy place! Neither married nor rings… Surrounded by unconditional love. Clarification enough… Now back to life and work! Thank you for always sharing in my happiness.”
Lalit Modi, who was the first president of the Indian Premier League, announced on July 15 that he is dating the former Miss Universe. He explained that the two had not yet married and that it was a “new beginning”.
