Lego’s new Minifigure Factory lets you create a $12 miniature for yourself

Lego is testing a new Minifigure maker online, Minifigure Factorylets you create your own Lego character (Across Jay Break BlogWhich I promise you have nothing to do with me).

In the tool, you will be able to select different heads, hoods, torso, legs and accessories for your custom Minifig. For the trunk, you can go deeper into customization by applying custom stickers and text. (Lego will harmonize the designs to prevent users from making inappropriate Minifigs, according to Jay Break Blog.) There are some fun accessories to choose from as well, like a laptop, pastries, and pizza. Completed Minifigs cost $11.99, although you can only buy one per household.

If you have used Lego’s online build mini shape tool available in Choose countries, looks a lot like Factory Minifigure. However, Build A Minifigure does not offer the same level of trunk customization that you can get with the Minifigure Factory.

You should know that you may not be able to use Minifigure Factory yet; Lego says the site is “limitedly available”. (I personally had access for a while while writing this post, but I can’t now.) The company is also calling Minifigure Factory a beta right now, and in a notice, it says “certain parts and features may not be available” and that “you may also find that the page is unavailable from time to time.”

As a kid, I had put together a version of “me” using parts from different kits, but it didn’t look quite right (although I had two lightsabers and a hoverboard, and they definitely look exactly like the real me). With the Minifigure Factory, I can create a more accurate Lego version of myself – and decorate it with robot decals. And if you’re looking to create a full-fledged action figure for yourself, Hasbro recently announced way to allow you to do exactly that.
