According to Polish Radio, the incident took place during Macron’s visit to the impoverished district of Sergei, a city largely populated by immigrants. The President greeted the crowd, towards them at one point A bag of tomatoes flew. Fortunately, it did not attack the head of state, it attacked the bodyguard. The president’s bodyguards covered Macron with an umbrella and quickly evacuated him from the scene. When the situation returned to normal, the president-elect continued his visit.

Macron did not comment on the incident. He said the purpose of his visit was to meet citizens who “often reject politicians” and have “hard lives.”
“In the first hours of my tenure I want to show them respect and understanding by showing that I can deal with these surroundings.”
Macron insisted.
On Sunday, Emmanuel Macron won the second round of the presidential election, where he faced National Union leader Marin Le Pen. He received 58.5% of the vote.
