Meghan Markle will receive this year’s Women of Vision award from feminist Gloria Steinem.

Meghan Markle is set to receive the 2023 Woman of Vision award from celebrated feminist Gloria Steinem next month.
The Duchess of Sussex’s “global advocacy for the empowerment and advocacy on behalf of women and girls” earned her a flashy new voice at a party in New York City on May 16.
Award – awarded by Foundation mrsa Brooklyn-based organization that “works to draw attention to the real challenges facing women, especially women of color and low-income women living in poverty” — notes that Markle is “a feminist, advocate for human rights, gender equality, and a global role model.”

The Duchess and the other winners, Younger added, “are amazing leaders, and we’re grateful to be able to highlight their many accomplishments and tireless work in favor of gender and racial equality across the country and the world.”
Other recipients include Wanda Irving, co-founder of Dr. Shalon’s Work on Motherhood project. Kimberly Inez McGuire, Executive Director, URGE; and Latosha Brown, political strategist and co-founder of Black Voters Matter.

Markle and Steinem, who both reside in Montecito, California, forged their unlikely friendship during quarantine in 2020.
Their unlikely friendship blossomed when the Duchess reached out to the 89-year-old to see if she wanted to join forces in making thank-you calls to vote registration organizers, according to Vogue magazine.
“I’m not a media expert, but it seems to me different from her image in the media,” Steinem said people said Markle in 2022. “She’s smart, funny, and dedicated to social causes.”
Markle was set to accept the award just 10 days later Coronation of King Charleswhich will take place on May 6.
The Sussexes did not say if they would make the 5,459-mile journey from their home in Montecito, California, to London.
